Welcome to the camper profile page! This page will contain different badges that your child has received throughout the different camps they have attended.
Multiple Intelligence Badges
Howard Gardner proposed a theory to challenge traditional methods of measuring intelligence offering a holistic approach to looking at how one excels in different facets. Being able to recognize a child’s strength and supporting their growth in that direction can lead to them to reach their potential in said intelligence.
**All intelligences can be developed and can change based on age and life events**
Special Achievement Badges are achievements that participants receive specific to the different activities done on camp day. Each camp’s Special Achievement Badges will reflect the learning focus of each camp such as Exploration, Imagination, Experimentation or Creation.
Once upon a time, students at Taitonmai Camp travelled back through time to the land of the dinosaurs. They ventured through ancient Earth to find precious stones, dug for fossils in the sand pit, made prehistoric masks, rescued dinosaurs eggs and survived a volcanic eruption. What a day!
Spatial intelligence was strongly demonstrated in this camp. Children who display strong spatial intelligence are good at remembering images and have an excellent sense of space and distance. Their awareness of the surroundings and ability to visualize images in their minds makes them good at reading maps and telling directions. Children with this intelligence often enjoy visual arts such as drawing and painting.
This badge reflects those with the outstanding ability of observation. Be able to detect hidden clues naturally on the camp day.
