ABOUT:
SANGAROON CHEAMSAWAT (PUMP)
I am an industrial designer with a heart for adventure. Tinkering and inventing is my passion. During my university years and starting career as a designer, I have been drawn to toy making, where I designed different toys for children and adults alike. Until I found myself in a different position with another job opportunity, teaching and managing the Fabrication Laboratory at the DSIL a Alternative School of KMUTT.
During my 4 years as the Fabrication Laboratory Manager, I applied my industrial design knowledge to design the curriculum for the school’s fabrication course, of which in included Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, Computer Programming through the Design Thinking process. The curriculum intended for Grades 2 to 6 is still being used at the school today.
During my time there, I met with Plub and Mangpor, where we started organizing Taitonmai camp. With the idea of learning through play in nature. Our first camp began on the 29th of November 2014, and has been on-going ever since.
To prepare our camp for the future, I have decided to pursue my Masters Degree at Kyoto Institute of Technology. During the time I was there I was able to explore the areas around Kyoto which consisted of forests, mountains, and rivers, and have learned about play through nature from different Japanese professors.
Now, shifting from an industrial design background, I employ my knowledge in an educational environment.
